TNPSC Group 4 Eligibility: Nationality
Candidates must be either of the following:
- A Citizen of India
- A Citizen of Nepal
- A Citizen of Bhutan
- Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, for permanent residence.
- Of Indian origin who has migrated from countries like Myanmar, Vietnam, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire and Ethiopia for permanent residence.
Candidates under categories II to V must obtain a certificate of eligibility provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
TNPSC Group 4 Eligibility: Age Limit
The candidates applying for the TNPSC Group 4 exam must fulfil the age criteria as per the official notification as provided below:
- For the post of Village Administrative Officer, the candidates should be between 21 and 30 years of age. However, for reserved category candidates, applicants should be less than 40 years of age.
- For the posts of Junior Assistant (Non- Security), Junior Assistant (Security), Bill Collector (Grade I), Field Surveyor, Draftsmen, Typist and Steno-Typist (Grade II), the minimum age requirement is 18 years old and the maximum age should be no more than 30 years.
- Candidates from reserved categories will be offered age relaxation in the upper age limit.

Village Administrative Officer:
Candidates must have successfully cleared the SSLC Public Examination or its equivalent and should be eligible for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College courses.
Junior Assistant, Bill Collector, Field Surveyor and Draftsman:
Candidates must have successfully completed Minimum General Educational Qualification like successful completion of SSLC Public Examination or equivalent and should be eligible for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College courses.
Typist:
Candidates must have successfully passed the SSLC Public Examination or equivalent and should be eligible for admission to Secondary Courses of Studies or to College courses. Moreover, candidates should also have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting:
- By Higher/Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English
- By Higher/Senior Grade in Tamil and English
- By Higher/Senior Grade in English and Lower/Junior Grade in Tamil.
Steno-Typist Grade III:
Candidates must have successfully cleared SSLC Public Examination or its equivalent exam with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses. Also, they must have successfully cleared the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and in Shorthand, both:

TNPSC Group 4 Exam Pattern 2022
The TNPSC Group 4 Exam will be conducted in offline mode. There will be three sections in the exam- General Studies, Aptitude and Mental Ability and General English/ Tamil.
Candidates are given the option to choose either General Tamil or General from the third section apart from answering the General Studies and Aptitude & Mental Ability Test sections. There is no negative marking in the TNPSC Group 4 exam.

Selection Process
TNPSC Group 4 Selection Process 2022
The selection of the candidates is done based on merit. The following are the stages of the TNPSC Group 4 Selection process.
- Stage 1- Written Exam: The candidates have to appear for a written test which is divided into three sections. The candidates who will get the minimum qualifying marks will then proceed to the second stage.
- Stage 2- Document Verification and Counseling: The tentative list of the candidates for the verification of the certificates will be announced by the conducting authority. After the verification of the original certificates, the eligible candidates will be called for counselling where the allotment of the post and the department will take place. This will take place in the order of rank and category of the candidate. This would also depend on the number of seats available.
