- The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination exam 2023.
- Candidates can apply for UPSC CSE 2023 at the official upsconline.nic.in till February 21 upto 6.00 PM. The notification is available at upsc.gov.in.
- The number of vacancies to be filled through CSE is expected to be approximately 1105.
- The final number of vacancies may undergo change after getting firm number of vacancies from Cadre Controlling Authorities, reads the notice.
UPSC CSE Notification 2023
UPSC CSE Notification 2023: The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the preliminary Civil Services Examination on 28th May 2023 (Sunday) all over India, in order to fill all the vacancies of the central government under Group A and Group B which will also include the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2023.

UPSC EXAM 2023:Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who want to qualify for the UPSC 2023 examination in order to become IAS/ IPS/ IFS and other officers must fulfil all the eligibility requirements mentioned in the official notification. UPSC Nationality Condition 2023
- For the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), a candidate must be a citizen of India.
- For other services, a candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who entered India prior to January 1, 1962, with the purpose to settle there permanently, or
- a person of Indian origin who moved to India with the purpose of residing there permanently, primarily from Vietnam, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia.
UPSC Age Limit 2023
UPSC Age Limit: A candidate must have a minimum age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years.

Candidates seeking benefits for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen must make sure they are eligible for those benefits according to the eligibility requirements mentioned in the Rules/Notice.
UPSC Educational Qualification 2023
A candidate must possess an equivalent degree or hold a graduate degree from any of the Indian universities established by an act of the central or state legislature, or from one of the other educational institutions recognised as universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
UPSC CSE Number of Attempts 2023
Each candidate who appears for the UPSC 2023 examination and is otherwise eligible to give the examination is liable to six (6) attempts to take the UPSC CSE. Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC and PwBD categories who are otherwise eligible, however, will be allowed a relaxation in the number of attempts. Such candidates may make the following number of attempts under the relaxation:

UPSC Exam 2023:Fees
UPSC 2023 Exam Fees: Candidates must pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only) either by remitting the money to any State Bank of India (SBI) branch, by using a Visa, Mastercard, or RuPay credit or debit card, or by using SBI’s Internet Banking. All Female/SC/ST/Persons with benchmark disabilities candidates are exempted from paying a fee. However, OBC/EWS candidates are not eligible for any fee exemptions and must pay the entire amount of the specified fee.

UPSC Exam 2023 Vacancy
The number of vacancies to be filled through the UPSC examination 2023 is expected to be approximately 1105. Here is the Categorisation of Vacancy given below:

The final number of vacancies may undergo change after getting a firm number of vacancies from Cadre Controlling Authorities. Reservations will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes. Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the Economically Weaker Sections and Persons with Benchmark Disability in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.
UPSC Vacancy Trends in Previous Years
According to a UPSC official, 11.52 lakh applicants applied to take the examinations in 2022, and 13090 of them successfully qualified for the UPSC CSE Mains 2022 i.e., stage II. The official added that the number of vacancies for the Civil Services Examination 2022 has increased from the initial 861 to 1,022. UPSC Online Application Last Date
The last date for the UPSC CSE 2023 prelims online application is 21st February 2023 till 6:00 PM after that the link will be disabled. Candidates are strongly recommended to apply online well in time without waiting for the last date for submission of Online Applications.
UPSC 2023 Result
UPSC will release the UPSC CSE 2023 prelims stage results probably in June/July 2023 and will release the qualified candidates for stage II (Main Examination) PDF list on their official website.
